The Tackling Indigenous Smoking Team is proud to support the Closing the Gap event. As strong advocates for health and wellbeing in our communities, we provide ongoing information and support to our three priority groups — Remote Communities, Pregnant Women and Families, and Young People. Through clear cessation messaging, practical resources, and culturally appropriate guidance, we empower participants to make healthy choices and support their quitting journey.

Supporting Closing the Gap reflects our commitment to strengthening community, improving health equity, and creating lasting change for future generations.

Event Partner

On Closing the Gap Day, the Aboriginal Health Council of SA (AHCSA) proudly stands with Nunkuwarrin Yunti of South Australia Inc., recognising the strength of Aboriginal leadership, community control, and the ongoing work to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for our community. This moment also aligns with a significant milestone for AHCSA marking 25 years of incorporation. Over the past 25 years, self-determination has remained central to AHCSA’s work.

Closing the Gap Day reminds us that meaningful change is achieved when Aboriginal organisations lead and communities are empowered. AHCSA is proud to stand alongside Nunkuwarrin Yunti as they step into the stewardship of this important event, honouring the past while strengthening the path forward for generations to come.

The South Australian Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation Network (SAACCON) is the peak body for Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) in South Australia. Since 2023, we have grown to a strong network of 31 ACCOs and we continue to grow. Our members are community-led organisations delivering vital services to Aboriginal communities across the state. As South Australia’s peak Closing the Gap representative body for the ACCO sector, SAACCON brings together the voices, knowledge and experience of our members to help shape decisions that impact our communities. We work to ensure Aboriginal leadership and community control are central to partnerships with government under the National Agreement on Closing the Gap, as well as ensuring SA’s state priorities are heard and progressed nationally. Above all, we advocate for SAACCON members, strengthen the ACCO sector, and support culturally strong, community-led services that empower Aboriginal communities across South Australia.
